Business Chamber head is moving on

Canberra Business Chamber CEO Robyn Hendry is moving on after guiding the ACT peak business group for the past four years.

With the Chamber moving into a new phase, Ms Hendry felt it was the right time to step away and pursue new opportunities.

“I have enjoyed my time at Canberra Business Chamber immensely and am sad to be leaving,” Ms Hendry said.

“The private sector in the ACT is flourishing and I am proud of the role the Chamber has played in creating a positive business environment in Canberra. We have grown our membership, spoken out on key issues and delivered a plan for Canberra out till 2030.

“As the Chamber moves onto its next stage, I felt the time was right to make space for a new CEO with a fresh perspective to steer the Chamber forward.

“I would like to thank the Board and the staff of Canberra Business Chamber for their support and tireless efforts on behalf of ACT businesses.”

Canberra Business Chamber Chair, Glenn Keys praised her contribution.

“Robyn has been with the Chamber for almost four years, joining us following the merger of the Canberra Business Council and ACT Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During that time, she has helped the Chamber grow from these foundations into a strong and respected industry body,” he said.

“On behalf of the Board, I thank Robyn for all she has achieved on behalf of the Canberra business sector. She will be missed.

“Robyn has led us through our important transition period. Bringing together the two key business associations in Canberra has been a massive achievement, and now the next stage of representing business to the betterment of all of Canberra and the region awaits us.”

Ms Hendry plans to travel and spend time with her family before taking on her next career challenge.
